Service Description

The Israeli Society of Neuropsychoanalysis and the Neuropsychoanalysis Open School announce the opening of enrollment for the Fourth Seminar of Re-Reading Freud. We continue our engagement with the Revised Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, a long-awaited milestone in psychoanalysis. This year-long theoretical seminar, Re-Reading Freud, Part 4, focuses on Freud’s later works and addresses key questions of anxiety, culture, femininity, the limits of analysis, and Freud’s final synthetic vision of psychoanalysis. The texts will be revisited through the lens of contemporary neuroscience. Participants will take part in 10 seminars dedicated to selected works from the Revised Standard Edition. All sessions will be recorded and available to participants for two years via neuropsychoanalysis.co.il. Seminar Structure Each session includes: • 90-minute presentation by Prof. Mark Solms, editor of the Revised Standard Edition • 20-minute interactive discussion • 10-minute reflection on seminar structure and participant needs In addition, once a month—one week before each meeting with Prof. Solms—a guided preparatory reading seminar will be held. Led by Dr. Irith Raveh-Barzel, it will focus on close reading, discussion, and conceptual analysis of the texts for the upcoming session. This series offers a unique opportunity to remain at the forefront of psychoanalytic thought and contribute to its scientific development in the 21st century. Reading materials will be sent in advance. Participants may submit questions via the WhatsApp group or by email.
