RE-READING FREUD 4
The Israeli Society of Neuropsychoanalysis and the Neuropsychoanalysis Open School proudly announce the launch of the Fourth Seminar of Re-Reading Freud, now open for enrollment.
We are pleased to continue our engagement with the Revised Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, a long-awaited milestone in the field of psychoanalysis.
This year-long theoretical seminar constitutes Re-Reading Freud, Part 4 and focuses on Freud’s later works, addressing central questions of anxiety, culture, femininity, the limits of analysis, and Freud’s final synthetic vision of psychoanalysis. These texts will be re-examined through the lens of contemporary neuroscience.
Participants will engage in 10 seminars dedicated to selected works from the Revised Standard Edition.
The seminar will be recorded, and recordings will be available to participants for two years via the website: neuropsychoanalysis.co.il
Seminar Structure
Each session follows a structured format designed to foster in-depth discussion and critical engagement:
90-minute presentation by Prof. Mark Solms, editor of the Revised Standard Edition
20-minute interactive discussion with participants
10-minute reflection on seminar structure and participant needs
In addition, once a month, one week prior to the meeting with Prof. Solms, a guided reading seminar will be held. This preparatory session will be led by Dr. Irith Raveh-Barzel and will be dedicated to close reading, discussion, and conceptual analysis of the texts to be addressed in the upcoming seminar.
This intellectually enriching series offers a unique opportunity to remain at the forefront of psychoanalytic thought and to contribute to shaping its scientific evolution in the 21st century.
All papers will be sent in advance. Participants are invited to submit questions either via the WhatsApp group using the link below or privately by email.
